Living on the Edge

Acrylic on panel (5″ x 7″)

$125

The Knife Edge trail on Mt. Katahdin is 1.1 miles of gorgeous views and terrifying drop-offs. I loved every minute of my three crossings of this trail, but I will admit that the first time I hiked it Chimney Notch made me a little nervous. I backed down into the notch due to the steep grade, and I couldn’t see where I was going to land when I reached the bottom! There was plenty of room down there, so I didn’t worry about it on the next two trips.

Somewhere Along the Trail

Acrylic on panel (5″ x 7″)

SOLD

Sometimes when you’re hiking, you find a place where you just have to stop to appreciate something really special. This cold mountain stream would be a great place to take a break to rest your tired feet and just soak in the beauty around you. If you don’t have much wall space, but need to be reminded that you should pause for a moment to appreciate the world around you, this painting is for you.

Welcome to the Nosebleed Section

Acrylic on panel (12″ x 24″)

$800

Once upon a time, when my knees were younger, I was privileged to hike across Katahdin’s Knife Edge trail three times. It’s no place for anyone who is afraid of heights, and hikers certainly need to use good judgement while walking along a narrow ridge with steep drop-offs on either side. That said, if you pay attention to the weather forecast and be sure to take extra care while hiking, welcome to the nosebleed section!

I Was Here First!

Acrylic on canvas (24″ x 36″)

$2500.00

The two moose are both mature bulls with newly-polished antlers, and they are spoiling for a fight. If they were not in the water, they would already be escalating their conflict. For now they’re displaying their antlers to each other to see if one or the other will back down.

A Walk on the Wild Side

Acrylic on canvas (35″ x 15″).

$1500.00

This is the Knife Edge on Katahdin, my favorite trail years ago when my knees were much younger than they are now!

If you’ve ever hiked a mountain trail, you might have wondered where the trail crew was taking you as you followed the blazes that tell you which way to go.

This painting, titled “Stay on the Marked Trail!”, depicts the Knife Edge trail on Maine’s tallest peak, Katahdin. What’s over the next peak?

On a trail like this, the hiker needs to trust the trail markings, as going any other way can be treacherous!

This is a 16″ x 20″ acrylic painting on a cradled panel

$700

These two paintings are the same size, 9″ x 13″, acrylic on watercolor paper. They can be purchased separately, but they would look nice hung side by side!
