Connie’s quilt, Lighthouses of Maine, has been sold. The quilt has been on display at Linda Bean’s Freeport Antiques Showcase, along with the pattern book in which it’s featured. Thank you to the new owner! It’s a joy to know that this quilt has found a new home.

David Hamlin bought this painting of his favorite place, Golden Ridge Road in Sherman, Maine. He said, “I absolutely love it! You captured the view perfectly.”

Children’s book author Stephanie Mulligan’s latest book, “How to Tap a Maple!” is now in print, and can be ordered from www.mcseabooks.com.  Featured above is one of Connie’s illustrations for the book. Here are excerpts from some recent reviews:

“I liked this book. I think that the illustrations were realistic, and the artist captured the text perfectly. I think the art was absolutely fantastic. I loved the realistic nature of the drawings. It’s a welcomed difference compared to cartoons that usually appear in middle grade of young reader books.”

“The illustrations in this book took my breath away! My kids and I will read this every weekend morning before we have pancakes or waffles for breakfast! It’s so fun while being informative that it really captivates my girl’s attention! I love the animals being mixed in as well!”

Recently local artist Connie Rand’s artwork caught the attention of L.L. Bean heiress Linda Bean, who purchased several of Connie’s paintings! Linda wrote to Connie ,”You have a special, unique eye for some of these Maine places, and I think your Katahdin is fabulous— such a different perspective!”
Over Memorial Day weekend ,Connie and her husband Lee traveled to Freeport, Maine to deliver the paintings to Linda, who will display the paintings at some of her various business locations, including “Linda Bean’s Maine Kitchen” in Freeport.

Also, Connie’s “Lighthouses of Maine” quilt will be displayed at Linda’s latest venture, “Freeport Antiques Showcase”. You can follow Connie’s artwork and career on her Facebook page, Connie Rand Artist.
